Vanessa Rojas is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biology under the advisement of Dr. Joy O’Keefe at Indiana State University. Her research is focused on the ecology and conservation of bats in the southern Appalachian Mountains. Vanessa holds degrees in Environmental Studies and Applications (B.S. from Michigan State University) and Biology (M.S. from University of Michigan – Flint). Bats have been Vanessa’s primary focus since 2007 through both universities and non-profit organizations that promote conservation, research and outreach. Vanessa loves the adventures involved with bat research and being outdoors.
